Explain the meaning of copperplate printing, offset printing:

1. Copperplate printing

Copperplate printing is the process of photographic color separation to make a positive sheet, after the plate, corrosion to make a copperplate. The copper plate is the opposite of the intaglio, is the pattern of the inking part raised, and the blank part concave.

Advantages: large printing pressure, ink saturation, thick text, background.

Disadvantages: rough texture, fine level is not suitable for plate printing, more suitable for printing simple graphics and text. Copper printing dot size to show the depth of the level, and the text and background color do not add screen, to the actual printing, but also because of the heavy pressure of copper plate, often left ink in the edge of the print.

2. Offset printing

"Lithography" and "offset printing" are the same meaning. The printing method is to transfer the ink on the plastic surface to the paper surface through the roller type colloidal mold. As the rubber surface is flat, there is no concave down patterns, so the printed paper on the patterns and patterns are also flat, no three-dimensional sense, poor security. Offset printing requires less ink, mold manufacturing costs than gravure.

Coated paper is not made for copperplate printing, or for offset printing. It's just a different way of printing than printing and crafts. It can only be said which type of paper is more suitable for which type of printing.
