As we all know, due to the board books often designed for the little babies. The size often small, so to convenient for babies to read and hold on hand. But in today's case, we will share a special board book printing case. This board book is from Irene, which size is 8.5" x 11", made of thicker cardboard and then bound in hardcover. This story was happened in 2021. When I received the inquiry from Irene, she said she has a special book wanted to print. But she was not decide the book as a board book or hardcover, between board book vs hardcover, she don't know how to choose, because that was a princess book. So she want to use sharp corners, not rounded corners.
After communicated for a few emails. Finally, we confirmed the specification for hardcover board book printing. The book size was 8.5*11 inches, 26 pages including covers. The cover material was 157gsm art paper mounted 3mm grey board, the inner pages was 300gsm card paper mounted 300gsm card paper. There have silver foiling on the book cover, and add ribbon to the front and back cover.

Irene was not sure how many copies she decide to print. So I quoted Irene prices for different quantity. After one month I received the files and confirmed the order and she decide to print 1500 copies hardcover board book for her first order. Then we help her check the preprecess artwork file and we found some issues in her file. The first version files did not include the bleed, and cover size was also not correct.  We feedback the files issue to Irene, and also made a cover template to help to layout the cover design correctly.  Finally the files issues was solved. Then, Irene paid deposit and we start to arrange the free proof samples for Irene to confirmed.

Because Irene was not sure about the finishing. So we made 2 sample books for her, one hard cover board book with glossy lamination, the other hardcover board book with matte lamination. We got the approval to proceed with the matte lamination and started to arrange mass production for 1500 copies.

Before mass production we confirmed all details with Irene again. Just to make sure we can finish the hardcover board books as what Irene like. After Irene confirmed all the details and approved the final artwork file, we start printing the mass product.
Finished and send out
When the mass product was finished, I take some mass product photos and video and send to Irene for confirm. Irene was very satisfied with our board book printing quality and told me she will arrange the balance soon.

After receive the balance for the hardcover board book order. We packed the books with pallets then arrange the sea shipping. Not only the printing quality, we also control the package very well to ensure every one can receive their goods safely and in good conditions.  We packed the hardcover board books as plastic bag inside+strong carton+ pallet with belt. Every carton less than 15kg-international package standard.
