The processing of soft hardcover
book printing is the same as that of hard hardcover book printing,
which can be produced by the hardcover linkage line with high efficiency. For
books with special specifications and materials, a small number of printed
sheets and hardcover requirements, they can also be bound manually.
In the nesting process, in addition
to some plastic looper book cases, most soft hardcover books still need to go
through the processing processes of shell, lining and pressing. Due to the
particularity of plastic and paper plastic cover, when selecting adhesive, it
can not be equal to general paper adhesive. In order to ensure the bonding
fastness between paper and plastic, the mixed adhesive composed of paste and
504 glue is generally used. If it is a paper coated cover, the ratio of paste
to 504 glue is about 16:1; If it is an all plastic cover, the ratio of paste to
504 glue is about 10:1.
In addition, the thickness of the
adhesive must be controlled during the lining sweeping operation to prevent
glue leakage. The traditional flour paste is the best paste for the lining of
soft hardcover
book printing. Although the special synthetic chemical paste has
become the first choice in the post press binding industry because of its
characteristics of non deterioration, non mildew and good viscosity, from
practical experience, the chemical paste is most suitable for lining. When
mixing the chemical paste with 504 glue, the viscosity will be reduced due to
chemical reaction, It is not as effective as the mixed adhesive of flour paste
and 504 glue.
