The common gram weights of coated paper are 105g, 128g, and 157g. The gram weight refers to the weight of the paper per square meter. An experienced person can know the approximate gram weight of a piece of paper by touching it. The thickness of the micrometer card is different for different gram weights of paper.
For different purposes, the grams of coated paper is also different, as follows:
105gsm, 128gsm coated paper: It is the minimum paper weight of four-color printing on the front and back of the coated paper. Because the paper is too thin, the occlusion of the printed matter is not strong, and it is easy to cause the phenomenon of front and rear printing. It is mostly used in magazine inner pages, inserts, and large quantities of low-grade publicity materials.
157gsm coated paper: Coated paper is currently the most widely selected gram weight in ordinary single-page printing. Most of the advertising single pages and folding pages are mostly 157g coated paper. Pay more attention in future interviews and work. It is mostly used on single pages, folded pages, inside pages of picture albums, posters, etc.
200gsm, 250gsm coated paper: The cost of coated paper is higher than that of 157g coated paper. It is mostly preferred by large companies and customers who pursue quality. It is mostly used in high-quality single pages, posters, album covers, inner pages, cards, and packaging boxes.
300gsm, 350gsm coated paper: The application of coated paper is relatively small because its quality and scope are the same as cardboard, the application is not very extensive, and it is mostly used in album covers, inner pages, cards, business cards, invitations, gift box printing, etc.
