5 common book binding methods

1. Saddle stitched

2. Perfect binding

Perfect binding is use of hot melt adhesive between the inner pages and the middle of the spine. And then glued together with the cover at the spine of the front cover and back cover. It's use for books and periodicals whose inner pages are less than 157g. The wireless perfect binding can be mass-produced. But the book should not be too thick, and the pages are easy to fall off during use.

3. Sew Perfect binding

Locking glue binding is to sew up and down all the signatures on the spine surface with weaving thread. And then glued with hot melt adhesive. This kind of binding method can increase the firmness of the binding for thicker books. Thinner books can also be bound with glue. But the least number of pages is 16 pages. And it price is not much different from that of wireless glue;too thin books do not need to use locking glue.

4. Wire-o Binding

Double coils are also called Wire-O-Binding. The common binding materials are plastic sprayed steel coils and plastic coils. Wire-O-Binding are generally considered fixed bindings. But some plastic coils can remove without damaging the inner pages. And can be bound from scratch if needed.

5. Sewing thread

Sewing thread is a binding method that uses sewing machine threading. This type of binding is only suitable for thin books. It is most used in the pursuit of integrated wire-bound books, and special letter.
